Part 1
  • Preparatory assignment about the essence and objectives of annual consultations
Meeting 1 (classroom):
  • Feedback in the Annual Consultation
  • Biases like negativity bias
  • Why is the Annual Consultation a part of a cycle?
  • Objectives of the Annual Consultation cycle
  • Expectations of the performance: what works well and what doesn’t
  • Making agreements
  • Increasing employees ownership
Part 2
  • E-learning on providing feedback and on how to deal with reactions on negative feedback (takes 30 – 45 minutes)
Meeting 2 (classroom):
  • The interview techniques
    • The opening of the meeting
    • Providing positive feedback
    • Dealing with reactions on negative feedback (skills)
    • Problem solving
    • Making new agreements
  • Cases of participants

Method

Experiential learning: short introductions, discussions and exercises. An actor in training will demonstrate parts of annual consultations together with the trainer. The participants are introduced into the e-learning that can be used as a fresh-up/e-learning instrument.

 

Duration

Two half a day meetings  (with homework assignments (1 hour)

Trainer

drs. Jan Jacob de Groot (Trans Missie training en advies) is experienced in training and consulting in the area of annual consultations in academia.
